April 30th, 2011 - The Galleria Mall was packed with exhibitors educating and reaching out to locals about being green at the 3rd annual Buffalo Niagara Green Expo. From cosmetics to straw bale houses, The Frizlen Group Architects was among those promoting and informing Buffalo about a very exciting and innovative project in the works - "Horsefeathers Market and Residences". Located at the corner of Connecticut St. and Normal Ave. is a vacant 5-story brick building built in 1896, once used for strange and unique antiques but soon to be converted into a state-of-the-art energy efficient green building with local food vendors and local farmers occupying the basement and 1st floor. The upper 4 floors will be converted into energy efficient 2-3 bedroom apartments that will preserve and display the massive structural elements and brick interior of this great building. In addition the building has been designated a historical landmark.
